If you’d been to any conferences I’ve been to over the last 2 years you would no doubt have seen the video several times. Its had over 2.8 Million views on YouTube.

RE BarCamp Sydney 2011

What a resounding success the first Australian Real Estate BarCamp was! Held in Sydney on Tuesday 24th of May 2011, the event saw real estate agents and associated business people come together for a day of sharing and learning with each other.

Affectionately dubbed as an “un-conference”, the format is unlike any other conference I’ve ever been to. It was informal, relaxed and open. Whilst I didn’t speak much, I think the next one I go to I’ll feel more confident in sharing my ideas, experiences and knowledge within the forum.

The Intelligent one is on the right.

Not only did it turn out to be a great way to meet new people in the industry, it also gave me a chance to actually talk face-to-face with like-minded people, tech heads who also have a passion for utilising new media and technologies for communicating with real estate consumers, and of course chat with some new and old friends (ones I had and hadn’t met in person yet).

Well done to all of the organisers – Peter Brewer, Lara Scott, Greg Vincent, Peter Fletcher and everyone involved in making it such a great inaugural event… including the sponsors (go us!), international visitors from NZ and the US (cheers Jeff) and participants. I have learnt a lot and can’t wait for the next REBC Australia!
